Paula's Background

"I have been practising Yoga since childhood (with a couple of very large gaps!) and hold a British Wheel of Yoga Teaching Diploma and a Diploma in Chakra Dancing. I have also had the privilege of studying Dynamic Yoga with Godfrey Devereux.

In 1987 I trained as a Homoeopath for two years, prior to which, amongst a chequered array of careers and life experiences and much travel, I studied and taught various techniques involving body movement, alignment, aerobic and remedial exercise.

I am the mother of four amazing teenagers! Identical twin sons and two daughters.

Teaching Style
"My teaching style is subtle and finely detailed. Focusing on developing awareness of the interrelationship of mind, body and spirit experientially. Through asana, pranayama, philosophy and meditation finding balance and enhancing energy towards a true sense of well-being".

Inspiration
"Throughout my life I have explored various forms of holistic well-being. The discovery of Homoeopathy cultivated an holistic and intuitive approach to health which matched my natural instinct. Homoeopathic philosophies and those of Yoga are compatible and interlinked; they both acknowledge the spiritual aspect of being human and have their roots in ancient India. Our physical, mental and spiritual aspects are all parts of the whole and directly reflect and affect each other, therefore any imbalance in any part will have a knock on effect on the well-being of the whole.

My own Yoga practice and teaching lead to the recognition of how influential the Chakras (energy centres in the subtle body) are in establishing balance and harmony. They influence energy in the physical body as well as the mental and subtle bodies. When 'Prana' (internal energy) is flowing freely and in a balanced way through these energy centres - optimum well-being is experienced. Healing and regeneration, even rejuvenation can then occur".

Yoga’s Gifts
Yoga is a multi-dimensional practice. Physically, Yoga offers innumerable benefits, from a lithe and youthful body with ease of movement and increased flexibility to a regenerating effect on the whole system. It also induces a calmer and more focused state of mind. Ultimately Yoga is a method for experiencing the spiritual aspect of our nature. Yoga builds a firm foundation for health. It can benefit young and old alike, regardless of your shape, size or fitness level.

"We can all find benefit from yoga, starting from exactly how and where we are now".
