Counselling and Hypnotherapy

Karen Britter Therapies

BWRT®, Phobias, Smoking, Stress & Anxiety

In 2013, I developed tinnitus and hearing loss in my left ear.  Medical investigations indicated they were caused by stress and anxiety.

I went through a course of therapy, sorted myself out and decided I wanted to be able to help people in the same way I had been helped.

I enrolled on the prestigious Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy Course at the Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy, where I was personally trained in this art by the founder of the Institute, Terence Watts.

I went on to obtain a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy.

I enjoyed my studies so much; I took the opportunity to enrol on additional courses and I am now also fully qualified in other therapeutic methodologies listed below.

Person Centred Counselling with Natalie Brincklow

I am a Person-Centred therapist, and it is an absolute pleasure and privilege to offer this counselling approach at Mayura Yoga. Having experienced first-hand the transformational and life-changing effects of Person-Centred counselling, at the age of 40, I decided to leave a career in teaching to become a counsellor. I trained at the prestigious Metanoia Institute and qualified with a degree and diploma in Person-centred counselling and began the most rewarding vocation.

I have worked as a counsellor for Cruse Bereavement Care, London Friend (LGBT Counselling Agency), Goldsmiths and Brunel University (offering counselling to staff and students). I also have a private practice in Ashingdon near Rochford. Throughout my work I have seen Person-Centred counselling change the lives of countless people. Person-Centred counselling is undoubtedly a powerful and empowering approach and can and does lead to life-long transformative change and healing.

The Person-Centred Counselling Approach

At the core of person-centred theory is the belief that only you really know how you feel, what is hurting and therefore, what has the potential to heal.

By exploring your thoughts and feelings within a safe and supportive counselling relationship, you will develop greater clarity and understanding, as well as trust in yourself. As a result, you will gradually gain a greater sense of confidence and begin to develop your own solutions; making decisions that are right for you. You will begin to experience greater control over your life and relationships, letting go of those things that no longer serve you and to moving forward towards a place of healing.

Just some of the issues I can help you with:

I have worked with people of all ages and backgrounds with vastly different and wide-ranging concerns including:

·       Anxiety

·       Depression

·       Panic attacks

·       Stress

·       Low self-esteem

·       Lack of confidence

·       Trauma

·       Abuse

·       Suicidal thoughts

·       Long term illness

·       Bereavement

·       Gender identity/fluidity

·       Sexuality

·       Relationship issues

·       Separation

·       Divorce

·       Domestic violence

·       Anger

·       Coping with change

·       Problems at work

·       Caring for others

·       General unease or unhappiness

Whether you are seeking support for a specific issue or whether you just have a general sense that things aren’t quite right, I can offer you a safe, confidential and supportive space where you can explore the issues that are troubling you.

Whatever your circumstances, I will listen to you without judgement and you will be heard. In our work together, I will be alongside you and I will support you to gain greater understanding and insight into your current situation. I will facilitate your exploration of the issues you bring, so that you can move forward towards a place of healing and development.

During our time together, you can expect to benefit from

a greater sense of well-being.
