What some of our Graduates are doing now

Linda Ananda

Linda Ananda developed her book and training programme Rainbow Children® whilst training with the Mayura School of Yoga. The format incorporating yoga, dance, song and storytelling brings children a sense of joy in movement practice and gives children the ability to flow through life's challenges with ease by teaching them yoga philosophy in an easily accessible and fun way. Linda says 'My time as a student with Mayura and the continuing support of Paula and my fellow students at the school made this project possible. I cannot recommend the school enough for its encouragement of creativity and Paula's depth of teaching.'

Yoga is a journey,

Healing and powerful.

Just living is not enough; one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower...

I found yoga, it made me feel wonderful, so I needed to know why.

I found Paula.... Loved her immediately... The whole experience made me calm, gave me inner peace that develops into energy and strength in an amazing way.

Now living in France, teaching yoga in French, feel unbelievably blessed to have met Paula.

Through yoga I have grown. Thank you.

Stuart Peffer

After much fun, friendship and study, I completed my Yoga Teacher Training Diploma Level 1 in September 2010. I began teaching cover classes, which led to a permanent position at a University complex. CPD days, book studies, kirtans, workshops and further anatomy courses have all continued along with my general interest and passion, and my personal sadhana has just grown. My background in many years of being a chef has led to an interest in diet, nutrition and kriya within this subject.

I also completed a further diploma in Health & Fitness Training to that of a REPS level 3, enabling guidance and teaching to yoga-minded students who were also seeking advice in that area.

From here on, who knows? Things feel right at the moment; all further study holds appeal, and the spiritual belief of being guided further when the time is right still resonates inside... Thus my advice - "Enjoy the journey & worry not for the destination".

Karen (Kay) Cornall

Being a very flexible "back bender " from a baby, my mum encouraged me to try a Yoga class in my late teens. Ever since then I have never let go, although at times my discipline has been lax and life has taken over, my yoga practice has always been a foundation ready to support me and benefit my overall well being. Since my first Qualification gained with the Mayura school I have gained diplomas in pre and post natal and children's Yoga, I hold first aid and up to date CRB, and am a member of REPS at level 3.

My teaching experience has been wide and varied:

Special needs: I am a Yoga tutor for the adult community learning LDD, and have many years experience of working with this special needs group through housing support and teaching Yoga at Mencap and Chelmsford Resource Centre.

Pre and post natal: I run workshops for Mayura Yoga Studio and have taught pre-natal students at the local Right Start Centre as well as 1:1 sessions.

Retirement groups: I teach yoga to members of the University of the Third Age, (U3A)  retirement group.

General classes: I teach from beginners to the more experienced yogi, offering variety, within my classes adaptations and the occasional surprise! I will forever be a student and my aim is to pass my knowledge to others as well as to continue to learn.

Karen sells her beautiful lavender eye pillows at the studio too.

Liz Horn offers a monthly Saturday afternoon Gong Sound Bath...
